The air starting to change and fall is right around the corner. At my house (and on my blog) that means we are about to dive right into pumpkin recipes! Pumpkin Spice is a fixture in so many fall recipes and I always prefer to make things myself when I can. Luckily, Pumpkin Spice is incredibly easy to make and it is way more cost-effective than buying it already made.
Another reason I love to make Pumpkin Spice myself is that I can control how much of each ingredient goes into the mix. I am not a huge allspice fan, so I cut down on the amount that might normally be added. If there is an ingredient you love or dislike you can adjust it easily without changing the integrity of the spice.
What ingredients do I need?
- Ground cinnamon
- Ground nutmeg
- Ground ginger
- Ground clove
- Allspice
How do I make it?
Step 1: Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl and mix until fully combined.
Step 2: Store in an airtight container (I use these).
