Rice Krispie Treats are a favorite at my house. It is one of the few desserts my husband loves. They are so simple, easy, and delicious. One of the best things about them is that they are a blank canvas. They are great as they are, but it's also super easy to add different flavors without extra effort. These Peanut Butter Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats are a perfect example of that!
The peanut butter is added into the marshmallow mixture and mixed with the rice krispies. I limited the amount of peanut butter I added to the recipe because I didn't want it to be overwhelming, but if you want more peanut butter flavor you can add up to a cup without affecting the consistency too much.
The chocolate ganache topping is chocolate chips and heavy cream heated up together until they are perfectly melty and smooth. You pour the ganache on top of the rice krispie treats and allow it to set. The ganache won't become perfectly hard, but it will no longer be runny and should only be slightly soft.
