Skillet Brownie

This brownie is thick and gooey. It is very simple, made with common ingredients, and perfect to share with friends!

Ingredients

For Brownie:

  • 6 tablespoons (85 grams) unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (133 grams) brown sugar packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons (45 grams) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (22 grams) cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (127 grams) chocolate chips

Instructions

For Brownie:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F). Spray a 5-inch cast-iron skillet with non-stick spray or rub with softened butter. Set aside.
  • In a medium bowl mix with a hand mixer combine the melted butter and brown sugar. When fully combined add the eggs and vanilla. Beat until fully combined and light in color.
  • In a small bowl combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Whisk to combine and remove any lumps.
  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Fold the chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread around evenly. Place the skillet in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs.
  • Remove from oven and enjoy while warm.
